Thanks for the video!!! Was very interested to see how these would turn out haha
I have to admit, I was side eyeing until your not-batter explanation at the very end
Girl what's the deets on that deep fryer???? I need that in my kitchen immediately!!
There's something magical about your food. I appreciate your efforts; I was wondering if you could share a video of you cooking with KHAL viewers. I would love to tip you on your recipes..๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ000000000098
The blurring makes it ridiculous.
I think that's called "boiling"
saying youre using WATER, and then deep frying it in OIL is the DEFINITION of clickbait
๐
If you put a dry coating on something then dip it in water, all your are basically doing is creating a really lame batter, and mostly just washing off the coating.
Iโm loving the new Candace โattitudeโ in your videos. It brought me back to regular viewing. I even watch your shorts and I HATE shorts. Digging the new vibe. Keep it up.
Just to put your kitchen into perspective, I have just enough counter space to put a cutting board and an electric kettle. That's it, and I have ONE drawer for silverware and anything else that needs a drawer. Also have very little storage.
Your kitchen is a dream! Lol
FRIENDS NOT FOOD <3
I think this is the long way of making a dredge?
Candice, this looks fantastic though I will agree it is also very tedious. Anyway I'm going to try it with larger flat slabs of tofu and then also experiment with club soda and also dark beer. I'll let you know what happens with my new grease fire ๐ฎ
Love that you blurred the death โค
The most misleading video title ever.
Yeah I had a mishap once in the kitchen and used a dry chem fire extinguisher. If you're going to use a dry chem fire extinguisher indoors, you might as well just let the whole place burn to the ground. That mess is not something you can recover from. The fire extinguishers I have now are Haloton. No powder but you do have to ventilate or get out pretty quick.
I make tofu nuggets all the time breaded with corn meal and before I coat them they are still pretty wet out of the press. The water is squeezed out of the middle but it's probably just as wet on the outside as it would be if it was just dunked in water like you did. I cook mine a little longer to make it crispier. There's quite a bit of water in the pan when I get done but not so much that I can't throw in some french fries.
THANK YOU for blurring out the chicken. We have a small, organic, regenerative, no-kill farm and we have chickens. They are pets/feathered family members, each loved and cherished. They romp and play outside and in the process, make compost for our farm. Theyโre AWESOME!
The thought of anyone eating chicken is devastating to me. They are smart, socially-complex and just as worthy of love and companionship as any dog or cat.
Chickens rock! Thank you for not showing dead chicken. โค๏ธ
No.
You turn the heat off FIRST, then you smother it.
Do NOT mix these two steps up!! Ask any Firefighter or CHEF.
hi, what is that pot your using do you have a link to it? what do you do with the oil after. can you save it? love you, your channel, and recipes!

next: deep fry in very hot salt.

Yeah can be done, be cautious tho, it's dangerous.
I named my ADHD Phill and I don't think I've related to someone more than your ADHD being a circus in your head
I feel like you could just use bigger pieces of tofu to make it less tedious?
Seems like you need to do a side by side comparison to judge the merit of this.
One dipped in water, one not dipped, and one with a wet batter.
You are blurring chicken๐ for what. I guess why but. No.
When you say "deep fry with water" that is very deceptive, you're not deep frying anything with water, you're just dipping it in water before deep frying it with oil.
So crispy
You needed a control for the experiment. You should have fried some without the water too. Great video though!
Can't imagine doing this with large batches of wet food. At some point this will cause issues…
Buddy I love you too much โค
can you figure out how to make the deep fried tofu that you can buy from asian grocery stores in the fridge section? the super spongy soak up all the sauce ones? i've not found any good recipes but maybe involves freezing the tofu
Cornstarch works so much better and is way more tasty.
Hi Candice!
