  1. Ok has anyone tried this recipe?

I just did and let me tell you – some grievances.

I don't think there's enough liquid in this recipe because I got a BURN notice the first round on the IP.

I also tried turning it to High on the Saute setting after I pulled the chicken and now my kitchen and I are covered in red sauce.

Tastes great – but I'd make some adjustments like adding water and also using the low setting for twice the time for reduction.

  2. Crushed tomatoes went through butter chicken well and well goes and works with butter chicken as well as tomato puree and such as tomato puree and light brown sugar.

  3. Experienced South Asian cook, and there's no need to salt and pepper the chicken unless you're grilling. Also, chopping them later is a tedious and messy step. Cut them into bonless pieces beforehand and add salt and pepper as you cook in the pot to avoid messiness.

  4. This recipe is bulshit, I've got the burn notice 3 times. The first time I thought maybe i didn't push pressure cook and instead it was still sauteing so I tried again and it burned again. I then figured it needed more liquid so I put in almost a cup of water and it burned yet again. I should note my IP works perfectly and I use it all the time with other recipes. NEVER TRYING THIS AGAIN.

  5. Dude! Don't call it butter chicken if you're making it that way. So many wrongs and so many erroneous techniques. Watch an Indian chef like Ranveer Brar or Kunal Kapoor ccok it and see how off you are. Pathetic!

  6. Instead of removing the chicken and slicing it on a chopping board, I would just lift it piece by piece with tongs and cut it over the pot using a pair of kitchen shears. Faster, and you don’t lose some of the liquid on the chopping board. Also no chopping board to clean

  7. This does not work, pot won't come to pressure and immediately gives burn message when close to pressurizing due to the reliance of water releasing from the chicken as it cooks.

  8. Sorry but this won't come out good at all. For butter chicken you have to roast it in a tandoor first. If you simply put the chicken in a pressure cooker it will never come out nice.

  9. I followed the recipe exactly, but the burn message on my instant pot came up, I made sure no food was stuck on the bottom of the pot and attempted again…. I was never able to pressure cook it for 5 min like it shows in the video. Help! 😩

  10. I think their intention is to make an easier recipe version that anyone can cook, coz to be honest some of us arent able to access the full ingredients that go along with making the authentic chicken butter dish.
