Recipe request: sandwiches! I'm stuck in a rut of peanut butter and jelly, chickpea salad, or tofurkey lol. So, I'd love some easy sandwich ideas. Especially ones that store well to take lunch at work. Thanks!
Good ideas! My problem is limp carrots and old baby dark leafy greens in plastic bags.
I'm always terrible with carrots! I buy a bag then put them in the fridge and forget them. Then when I remember them they've sprouted roots and shoots!!
I'm so late to this is not necessarily storing but if you notice your lettuce wilting just place bowl with ice and water leave it in there for 15 minutes and drain
You will have crispy fresh lettuce all over again
Hey Candice! I've been a long time subscriber and love your content. I don't know why I haven't thought to ask before, but my mom always made this cheesy chicken broccoli casserole (I'm from the midwest U.S.) served over rice and I've tried to veganize it before but have never really gotten it just right. I don't know if its the type of dairy free milk that I'm using or cheese or chick'n pieces or what. I was wondering if you could help me!?
Doesn’t the bay leaf affects the taste of flour?
I cant believe you did 7 colab videos with Ken Domik. CRINGE
Great advice. Thanks Candice.
Thanks for these tips!! I can’t wait to try them.
As someone that has been in the restaurant industry for atleast 15 years I've never had an issue with weevils in my flour. Neither at work or at home. Weevils are unfortunately part of the milling process. Typically when buying flour their eggs are in with it. The best way you can ensure you don't have any is to freeze the flour then sift prior putting into airtight containers.
Vinegar doesn't kill bacteria, chlorine does. Make sure it's one that's suitable for vegetable sanatizing
This was a really good post, I love your method and will be incorporating some of your methods starting tomorrow.
I've been creating an herbed oil by taking my favorite herbs and mixing them with between 1/4 to 1/2 cup of evoo. It wips up to just at or over 16ozs. which I store in a glass jar and use as a sauce base for numerous dishes. To keep this herbed oil fresh, I smooth out the remaining portion in the jar and cover the remainder with evoo to block air and it's lasted me for a month. But generally this combo is gone way before that time.
love all of these tips! putting paper towels in the fridge is genius
Cleaning and prepping helps so much
Store potatoes separately from onions.
does anyone have tips for keeping cilantro?
Love all the tips!
Talk to me about storing tomatoes!!! I went on vacation once where a few couples shared a house…. one of the women kept insisting on putting MY TOMATOES in the fridge. I had to have a come to Jesus moment with her.
I store tomatoes in the fridge because I always get fruitflies if they are out. I can not handle fruitflies 🤷
Really love it! Will try this soon 🙂 thank you again for sharing… subscribed to your channel 😀☺️

Thank you for putting all these tips in one spot!! I knew a handful but not all. I love keeping my produce fresh bc 1. everything is so expensive now and 2. i hate waste!
For fresh blackberries, simply grow them in the backyard. Store-bought stuff is just bland in comparison. Nothing beats straight off the tree.
Thanks for the great tips! I hate wasting food.
Great info! Thanks!!!!
I keep all my nuts, seeds and flour in the freezer
Also, cut off a tiny bit from the stems of herbs before you put them in the "vase", just like you would with flowers. With a fresh cut they can absorb the water much better than when the cut has dried.
My biggest and only problem with greens is the leaves drying out and wilting
For foods that are about to go bad I usually chuck them into a big pot and make some kind of vegan soup/stew.
? re-upload, or am i tripping?
wonder if my mushrooms would be okay in the veggie cloth bags I bought???
MONTHS HUNNY… Garlic will last MONTHS if you vacuum seal them !! I doo this all the time… the bags will blow up like balloons tho but the garlic are trapped by thier own gas and I have NEVER lost a single bag evvvver!!) I buy 5 lb bags of peeled garlic and store them in 1 cup portions in the fridge.. extra fridge in the garage but yes girl…. trust !! It works… you think they are going to explode but this has never happened to me .. I pop it w a push pin or knife and it has never popped like you would exspect from a real ballon.Ballon.. 😆 it's always disappointing hahaha 🥰👍👍
I'm having Déjà vu I swear you already uploaded this
Excellent presentation
Very interesting
Nice shared
Thanks for sharing these great tips for making your food last longer Candice. Yes groceries are getting more expensive so we have to make sure we don't waste any. Love 🥰 the video and love 💞 Candice.
Buy less food. Eat leftovers. Meal plan. Actually buying less has probably been the biggest way we’ve saved money and waste less. All three combined definitely help. Good tips!
DEJA VU?
My issues aren't berries going bad, but going into the fridge a few after after grocery shopping to no berries. Lol
Plant a moringa tree on your backyard. It has edible leaves, edible flowers, edible seeds, edible young pods and its easy to propagate. the leaves alone has the protein of 12 glasses of milk.
