  1. I just don't get why gordon doesn't just cook normal vegan stuff. Like noone asked him to be the new sauce stash. He could just make a delicious pasta dish or something. I'd love to have a renowned chef make a simple vegan dish, but explains why certain things are added and something that bursts with flavour. In masterchef they always talk about "oh it oozes flavour" "this is perfectly balanced". I don't need another mock meat. I need a perfectly flavoured and balanced meal

  2. I genuinely think this was a prank by Gordon to all vegans to try… Bc he has actively made fun of vegans or vegetarians. I actually love him and think he is an excellent chef and does a lot of good for a lot of people but….yeah, this seems like a prank.

  3. I'm pretty sure you weren't supposed to leave all that shit in the pan with the eggplant. It's probably also burning because you had the oven on broil before so it was too hot. You were probably also supposed to remove the rosemary sprig, too. Why did you put that much salt? It still looks like a turd though. Blech.

  4. My brother in law made a “chicken fried steak” from portobello mushrooms. OMFRICKINGOODNESS!!!!!!!! It was so dam good. He made mashed potatoes and gravy with it too. So if you’re feeling ‘edgy’ 🤣 and up for a challenge, there ya go! 😁✌🏾 Love your channel ❤️😍

  5. We kinda don't need him to swoop in here and give us any "professional" recipes :/ I certainly don't question his skill level, but…this is weak sauce (ha ha ha, or apparently not…apparently it's salty sauce).

If I want a professionally trained chef, I'll go to Avant-Guarde Vegan. If I want professional level by someone not classically trained, I'll watch any number of amazing vegan YouTubers (Mary's Test Kitchen, Viet Vegan, Cheap Lazy Vegan, Vegan Zombie, hell, Mommy Tang's frickin' kimchi jiggae is one of my go-tos! And of course, Edgy Veg 🙂 ).

We have our own fantastic cooks. I'd much rather a recipe from someone who has been cooking vegan for years, rather than some dude who constantly mocks the diet (for lack of a better word, I hate the term "lifestyle" for moral choices) who doesn't even have the respect to research a reasonable replacement for steak.

I much prefer vegan recipes made for vegans, by vegans (this isn't so say I eat at exclusively vegan restaurants, but most of the places I've gone to with vegan options have better looking recipes than this: and that's coming from someone who loves a good eggplant).

  6. Before you said it, I was also thinking about the smell of boiling red wine and beet juice with rosemary. bleeeeehhh. Also, I still can't tell if he trolled us or he thinks this is the best thing we would ever taste. hahahaha

  7. This format fits you so freaking well! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  8. I find it hilarious that a Michelin Star chef can't make vegan food taste good. It's not hard. Just use the seasonings (plants) you put on meat to make it taste good and put it on vegetables. Done.

  9. I’m convinced that less is more. Any lengthy recipe I’ve ever tried, vegan or non, has always just been “meh”. I don’t even slow down to watch cooking videos if the recipe is lengthy. She really proved that here. She has much simpler, more tasty recipes. I’m glad she tried the recipe for us. No need to work very hard for a mediocre recipe. 👍
