  1. Isn't it better to get Prosciutto sliced on the spot from a butcher? A lot of these packaged Prosciutto meats have packaging that use gas flushing I believe.

  2. I've seen how expensive imported foods are you buy what you can afford. I'm always on a budget for groceries so I don't over spend and usually my food bill is $100 to $160 a fortnight depending on how much I need at home

  3. Honestly Laura, most people’s palate can’t tell the difference. Besides, just because something comes from another country doesn’t always mean it’s better. There are certainly some things that can only be sourced from a particular region, such as true Parmesan Cheese or Kobe Beef but if an average person compares an XO Brandy with an XO Cognac they probably won’t taste much difference.

  4. Only the wealthy or childless can afford these NOW-A-DAYS.. way too expensive. The Imported Italian products for a family of 6 aren't in the budget. You have to consider the BUDGET… I think I'll fill my gas tank

  5. I always thought that in order to sell it as prosciutto it has to be the real thing from Italy. In Europe that's the case and its called "Protected designation of origin". Same goes for parmigiano or feta. We only have the real prosciutto here in Sweden I don't know in other countries.
