  1. The hushpuppies I grew up with, were bigger, they were made with regular coarse yellow cornmeal, (thus tasting very much like cornbread! Mmmnn!) and they always had onion, onion powder, garlic powder. Sometimes a variation was made we called; Texas Style hushpuppies and cumin, chili powder, and chopped jalapenos or a small can of drained green chilies was added… I still make them the same way…
