It makes a good substitute for soy sauce or soup stock. That's how I've used it. During WW2 there was an American version called vegex… You can find recipes online for mixing up your own… I've seen older American vegetarian cookbooks that call for it in recipes.

Always add this when I want a "beefy" flavour. Tomato paste + marmite is a massive flavour boost..
I wanted to learn more about this stuff a while ago, and the Sanitarium brand Marmite from New Zealand is my favorite so far. Didn't know about the truffle version, though. down the investigatory rabbit hole for me!
