  1. I strive for "whole food plant based" but sometimes, you just want a sugar rush that dates, maple syrup and cashews won't satisfy. I've made many varieties of vegan icings, frostings and cream cheese frostings over the years but the addition of the apple cider vinegar and salt were game-changing for that "cream cheese tang". 😋I needed a frosting for some vegan cinnamon rolls and this was perfect. Thank you for the inspiration!

  2. can i substitude ground ginger for minced ginger? I read on internet that you can use 1tsp of minced ginger for every 1/4 of ground ginger, but I'm not sure if it works for a cake…

  3. I am sooo in love with this cake recipe, my parents loved it so much too. It is just so moist and soft. Few replacements because I didn't have some of the ingredients on hand were coconut yogurt to homemade applesauce and coconut oil to canola oil. Still soooo good 💕

As for the frosting since I didn't have a vegan butter available, I have to settle for a plant-based cream whipped with distilled vinegar, fresh lemon juice, salt, and vanilla. Tastes like cream cheese frosting too.

    Thanks a bunch!

  4. Did you double the recipe for the cake? Because at first you baked two pans and then you had 4 layers. I just doubled mine and I am waiting for the results!!

  5. Lol I just thought of making this cake for my family on Easter and them rejecting it just because it’s vegan then me going in my room crying myself to sleep st night bc my family hates anything vegan

  6. Oh so many memories. This was the first of your videos I came across and I've been following since. Good reminder of why! This is some awesome and hilarious video! Keep it up!

  7. I attempted this and boy did I miserably fail… I have no idea if brown sugar can go bad, but as soon as I mixed the wet ingredients I noticed that it had mass hardened clumps of sugar.. which I ignored and after everything else I put it in the oven.. after 10 minutes the molasses crap concotion overflowed and cemented to the bottom of the oven completely. I think I suck at cooking
