  1. I really wanted to love this recipe. The flavor is BOMB, but my jackfruit came out REALLY mushy. Is this right or this wrong? I hoping for it to be a little more chewy. It also stil lhas that tangy brine flavor to it. I even squeezed the brine out and rinsed it. Any advice/tricks/tips? HELP!

  2. First of all, you are rocking that really cute shirt. Second…this recipe is WONDERFUL! I followed this recipe exactly except it took me two days to finally get a mango, so the jack fruit marinated for 2 days (big deal). My son and I just ate these tonight. Between this recipe and your gumbo recipe, he is slowly being convinced to go vegetarian (going vegan is still in process for me but I've cut back significantly). Thank you!!!

  3. Candice, I love this recipe I have tried it out so many times and it was always a hit amongst vegans and non vegans. Mangoes are not in season at the moment where I live what other substitute would you recommend for this?

  4. Can I ask something. I see a ton of vegan recipes on YouTube with the cooks using plastic bags to marinate with. Wouldn’t a bowl fit in better with the vegan lifestyle choice? Seems wrong to use a piece of plastic when a container could do the job.
