  1. This was definitely missing something and it took me some playing around with to figure out what was missing. I made 2 different sheet cakes then added some homemade strawberry glaze in between the 2 cakes then covered with cool whip. The strawberry glaze made a huge difference! It gave it an overall better flavor, added richness to the middle of the cakes and tasted amazing! The cake seemed a bit too dry for my liking without the added glaze.

  2. I made this for my daughters 2nd birthday and I swear my brother in law ate half the sheet! It's a go to recipe now. And of course it's even better when you get fresh hand picked strawberries from the farm in season

  3. ❤❤❤oh my gosh! This was sooo… Good. I used the scratch yellow cake recipe you referenced and added the pudding mix and sour cream and extra eggs as shown and wow, everyone was blown away! It looked gorgeous and tasted fabulous. I went the extra mile and quickly piped some simple star tip mounds all around the perimeter of the cake and added a star mound above each green leaf accent. This is a definite winner. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

    Edit: At 09:52 -That number 2 in the cake slice that she cut. I know it’s an air bubble, but it’s in the shape of of number 2! 😮

  5. I am confused. In your video you say to use a yellow cake mix, with your changes obviously. But when I go to the written recipe on your website, it calls for a vanilla cake mix. So which is best to use?

  6. Hello Laura! Biggest fan here❤ so in your recipe, you are telling to use a yellow box mix, however on your website the recipe says Vanilla cake mix. Can you please clarify. I’m about to make the recipe but got confused.

  7. The pudding addition is how my mom used to make boxed cakes! I still do that trick, and everyone asks for my cake recipe. LOL. I will try the pudding in whipped cream at Thanksgiving; will be delicious on trifle 🙂

  9. I made this but because of a food allergy couldn’t use strawberries. I figured as long as I was using raspberries I might as well use lemon pudding mix instead of vanilla. It was delicious!! Thank you for always giving me great recipes. Everything I make from your site is a hit!

  10. Hey Laura, is there anyway you could create some videos covering the topic of Make Ahead and then Freeze for Convenience meal prep ideas? I am really interested in ways to spend say an entire weekend prepping and freezing portioned proteins etc and then having a simple dinner by just grabbing parts from the freezer. I would love to see your take on this type of prep. Thanks for the amazing content otherwise.
