  1. Sam, I’ve watched this video many times. In fact, my wife and I watched it again today (because we’re having chicken riggies tonight and we love your recipe). It is a very good (if not great) recipe.

    However, chicken riggies are a product of the Utica-Rome area in Upstate/Central New York. No one who was born and raised here speaks with a New York “CITY” accent.

    While I love your recipe for Riggies, I get very pissed when someone confuses the way we speak with the way they speak in the City…Like you did in this video…nothing against the NYC accent. I am sure that they (people of NYC) would get upset if you used an Upstate/Central New York accent to mimic how they speak.

    That said (actually “written”), I am very appreciative of your recipe and your cooking channel. You and your crew have a great sense of humor (and I appreciate that). Keep up the great work and PLEASE don’t mix up Upstate New York with the City in the future.

  2. Pretty darn close to the Utica area Riggies. Gotta try to get jarred hot cherry peppers dump them in with a bit of the juice they are in for that riggie flavor. It's a game changer because that's what gives the dish its flavor. We also substitute steak, shrimp, sausage, and extra veggies for chicken. They put this sauce on burgers and pizza too.

  3. Okay, I just want to thank you for my now being torn between 2 chicken dishes. I was gonna whip up a batch of “one pan chicken dinner” on Wednesday, but after seeing this I’m leaning more towards the chicken riggies”. Could go either way now.

  4. I am a native Utica New Yorker were riggies originated. I fry flowered chicken. Make my sauce on the side add the chicken to the sauce add the jalapeños to the sauce let cook. Right before serving I add the heavy cream to the sauce you can’t beat it. We also make vodka Riggies. The best riggies made in Utica is Bella Regina. In my opinion.

  5. Made this tonight after watching this video, but I went to your web page for the recipe. Even after watching it, I did the exact same thing and had to transfer it into a pot…completely forgetting what you did. Excellent meal.

  6. Sam, as someone from Upstate NY, or a 3 hour drive to Utica NY where this is better known of, your NY accent is way off for this area of the state! Look up chicken speidies from Binghamton NY for a great winner 🏆
