We really just have one goal – to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.

If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin – then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.

Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

THANK YOU ❗️

  1. We didn't keep it secret we just know that Sam the fuck up guy can't make things properly and has to add things, change things or take short cuts just like this video and fuck things up rather than showing respect and making things properly!

  2. SAM: I grew up in a chippy in the north of England and have lived in the States since 1990. A couple of tips: 1) Take whole onion and slice about 1/3". Keep it whole and don't pull the segments apart so you have a solid onion ring. Batter that and deep fry. You will LOVE the result. 2) You could have used some leftover pastry to make a sausage roll. 3) same pastry recipe, but add beef suet. Suet is rendered down so it is pure, you're not looking for beef tallow, it's different than something like lard. You can get it online. Use it instead of butter. Make your pie in a larger bowl, put a foil cover on it and tie it off. Then steam it in a pan of boiling water. You will be amazed at the result. Use same beef as you put in the pie you made. 4) You can also take the same dried peas you use to make pea soup. Soak overnight and add a bit of bicarb of soda. Drain and then cook in a pan. That gets you close to the mushy peas. 5) A good brown beef gravy is actually more popular that the curry sauce.

  3. just to let you know you may never of heard our english chip shops (some not all) do battered burgers , battered mushrooms and one chippy i heard even did battered mars bar…..no lies look it up

also i would love to see your take on a spring roll

  4. Nice try init, defo looked good, the peas are questionable but id still eat em..want processed peas, and teaspoon baking soda to help break em down..no mushin, blending involved, they turn to mush on their own 😁👍

  5. Liverpool chippy, normally Chinese owned. We order a fishcake ( potato beaten with a tad of mint, erm no fish) dipped in batter then fried while the lad in the back turbo woks special curry, 4 types of meat, with bamboo shoots, water chestnut , onions and all the rest, served half and half, half rice half chips. I'm 20 years in Spain, this is one of the only things I miss. Love your channel Sam, kev in Spain.

  6. Chip butty and gravy but only in the north as the gravy is done right. I’d say Newcastle through Scotland. If in Scotland it’s a chip stottie and gravy. Not the same as a butty

  7. Looks great. Only observation is that the peas are maybe more viscous than I would expect, but still good. I live in scotland (the chippies there will fry anything) and my go to order is a battered haggis, chips and curry sauce. I don't think you could manage that in the US as haggis is banned.

  8. Fish and chips is as British as you can get. Was one of the only foods exempt from rationing in WW2. People don't eat it as quite much any more. Kebabs are are more popular as takeaway food.

  9. No mention of the "battered sausage" because it's just a sausage. That's how its cooked. Ask for "sausage and chips" and that what you get. Don't want it battered? You need to specify an unbattered sausage.

Same goes for haggis. Battered as default because it's part of the sausage family.

The exception is the beef burger. If you want that battered, you have to ask.

  10. Could someone please let me know where to get the pastry dough used in this video? All I can find is "puff pastry" with the exception of sam's club pizza dough, which I don't think is used in this video.
