This would probably be great with butter pecan ice cream.
I accidentally made this about 10 years ago at a holiday dinner party when someone's pecan pie didn't set. I used it as a topping for the pumpkin pie. Ever since I've wondered about baking them together like this.

This looks really good. I just have a question… if it needs to cook in the oven for that long, then why do you have to cook the crust ahead of time? Wouldn't being in the oven that long cook it with the rest of the pie? I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just wondering…
