We really just have one goal – to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin – then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

THANK YOU ❗️

Sounds like the saying, have Chinese food, 1/2 hr later your hungry again
You do realize that alphabet romanization is all different in different languages and dialects. TIM SUM was a romanization chosen by Cantonese linguists. That is all that is. Nothing mysterious or special about it.
Singapore is a great place. I worked there for almost 4 years and had a great time and made many friends and obviously ate some amazing food. Jumbo seafood is the worst they sell shark fin soup absolutely disgraceful.
I was stationed in Japan for 8 years ending in 2023 and while I was there I had the opportunity to go to Singapore for over 5 months. From Paranaken (Candlenut) to tiny hawker stalls near trains stations…. some of the best food ever! I can still taste the chicken rice (especially the garlic chili sauce!)
Yes, I know it's one year since the filming of this trip but, I just discovered this part of your channel and, unlike Vincenzo, I am NOT going to Singapore anytime soon unless of course, I win the lottery however, this along with your Japan, and Korea excursions were utterly, completely, happily enjoyed, by me. Thank you Sam and Max for filming these amazing food pilgrimages, it made me and I'm sure, a whole lot of other people gratifyingly happy.
I think Sam should have a travel show….really good content.
Your food is much better! Everything looked nasty
I've been to Singapore several times while serving in the United States Navy and loved it. I hope to revisit several countries I've seen and explore other countries and the United States of America while it still remains a Democracy and The United States Of America. Not the United States of China.😏🇺🇸🗽🙏🗽🇺🇸. I'm a Patriot and I've been cancelled also. I don't give a shit either. I'm not going to quit or Submit to the Left . 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hope you can do food vlogs on Indonesia, I cannot wait in future
Misinformation on them runny ass eggs
Look in the foreground, in the serving tray… 16:23
love how covid has enough sense to leave you alone when youre eating.. masks do nothing..
Love the video Sam! I feel like you missed out on some the best food here though. Chicken rice is what Singapore is known for. I was lucky to visit someone who lived there and could point out all the local places to eat.
If you find yourself here, take their mass transit out of the city center and they have thousands of hawker stands that are extremely affordable and much for interesting then the dishes shown in this video. For example I had soft shell chili crab for a fraction of the price than they paid in this video. You won't pay more than $5 US for a meal.
For a fun bonus, look for a place that sells century eggs. I'll let you look up the details.
You lost me at the half-boiled eggs.🤢
I had a similar opinion of the chilli crab. Very bland, and a huge pain in the ass to eat. If the meat was already extracted from the crab it would be just ok, but the whole gloves and stuff is just not worth it.
I think you wanted Pepper Crab not Chili Crab.
my goodness…your video is making me hungry. Truly impressed with your worldliness, profound knowledge and appreciation of the local cuisine.
Wait. What chowder in Seattle? It better not be Ivars. Not that Ivars is bad, just sayin.
Seattle's known for CLAM CHOWDER…. I DIDNT KNOW THAT. BUT IT MAKES SENSE…. I KNOW MY NEXT FOODIE ADVENTURE
Big fan of the show would have loved to catch up in Singapore!
It could be Tim Sum due to way Cantonese people say it. With a harder emphasis on tim rather than dim.
Too Chinese-centric. Should explore food from other main cultures. Malay food is always known to be spicy. Perhaps you could have tried that. Sambal seafood is good one to try
At 15:18 mark.. What a waste of food Sam ..Why not just take it to go?
https://youtu.be/JeI_F0DDyMI?t=287 if am not wrong, it was a literally phonetic pronunciation of "Dim Sum" in cantonese, which sounded like Tim Sum.
We are big fan of your show and we are so happy because you went to where the local eat on a daily meal and showing the audience on what that country has as specialty dish not the tourist restaurant!
And yess that meepok is my favourite!
Looks good, but man, you missed out on all the great street food vendors.
Chewing gum isn't actually illegal in Singapore. Importing a large quantity and selling it isn't allowed. Importing a small amount for personal consumption is. Spitting it on the ground is really just littering. Every developed city in the world has that rule/law, it's just how strictly they want to enforce it. This was explained to a bunch of people at a seminar by a former barrister from Singapore.
Next time you come over to Sgp again-try the Peranakan, Malay, Indian n Eurasian food, it’s yummilicious!
Love this! You need to try white pepper crab at jb ahmeng. It is far better and that's where the spainish Michelin chefs eat!
Anthony bourdain 2.0
😅
Great videography skills and editing!
Shoud've went with the black carrot cake there.. I think it's better than the white carrot cake. Maybe next time give it a try
Must try the Singapore Peppery Bak Kut Teh with rice, blanc vegetables with oyster sauce fried garlic, braise soft chicken feet. Half boiled eggs goes well with good butter spread toast with egg on top. Dash pepper powder and light soy sauce. Also their chinese restaurant rice, stir fried dishes & steam fish (silver promfret, red garoupa, Dragon Tiger Garoupa, wild Cat Fish, Cod fish). Actually for crabs, goes black pepper sauce delicious. Buffet steamboat with chilli dipping sauce another worthy try.
Welcome to my home country Singapore – from LA
Please tell me you had a Singapore Sling at the Raffles Long Bar.
Now you gotta git chur ass in the kitchen and duplicate some of these recipes!
Oh wow been a Singaporean my whole life and I've not been to Chin Mee chin…lol…
Ahhh… The guy whom taught me how to do an English breakfast is here in my Little Red Dot. Welcome to Singapore Sam! ❤
I'm just chilling on the side of the road watching this video and I'm like damn who the f*** has got those squeaky brakes around me Oh wait it's in the video lol
I was in SIngapore 10 days ago, and almost all food i tried was fuxxxin delicious!
I’ve been watching your channel for years and LOVED this episode! So fun to see you enjoy all the hawker food we grew up with. Chin Mee Chin is an absolute institution in Katong – what a nice surprise to see that! I hope you guys come back and try some Peranakan food next 😊
Extra pairs of underwear?
Why?
Uncontrollable DIARRHOEA!
