  1. Thanks for sharing. I’m gonna make this tonight but with smoked turkey leg I don’t eat pork. I’m now a new sub.😋😋🙏🏽

  2. I love this recipe!
In addition to the ham, onion, carrots, celery, I add zucchini, and plain traditional refried beans instead of potatoes or whole beans. It thickens the broth.
I love the fall and these warm recipes keep me in the kitchen and filling my home with love for my family.

  3. I watch your channel because you have very interesting non Italian American recipes too. Bangers and Mash , Corn Bread Casserole , and Ham Bean soup! You should comment on pros and cons of SOAKING DRIED BEANS. Saves cooking time and more evenly cooks beans and may decrease amount of gas. Especially important if beans are old. There is a quick soak method too.

  4. I substituted lima beans for the navy beans and this recipe did not disappoint!! It was a hit along with the corn casserole. I will definitely be making this again 😊

  5. The link fir the recipedoes not work. Trying to find rcipe for chater cornbread. I am diabetic so would apprecuate somecotnbread thatthat is lowcarb. That means no corn and definitely no cornbread mix. Th a nk you.

  6. I had a craving for a ham and bean soup. I was curious if Laura had done a recipe on it. Sure enough, just 11 days ago. Idk how many times she has been right on time with something I'm in the mood for.

  7. Instant potatoes will thicken bean soup – I buy the small envelope of instant potatoes just to have on hand to thicken this kind of soup! I make small batches so I only use 1-2 Tbsp but the envelope would thicken Laura's big pot.

  8. Laura … just a suggestion …I don’t know if that makes a difference to the taste….. but you can soak the beans/lentils prior to cooking for few hours.

We Indians use beans and pulses almost every day and we always soak them overnight and it helps in cooking faster

  9. I made this tonight for dinner! I told my hubby that it was thanks to Laura in the kitchen, and he said to make sure I get more recipes from you! Thank you so much🥰
