  1. I as most live in or around the Binghamton area. Love what you did with your spiedie’s looks great. One thing my may want to try to get the marinade to stick to the chicken better is to add an egg to it.

  2. 3 HOURS!?!??!?!?!?! No no no no no fuckin NO. Marinate them AT LEAST a full day, 2-3 is better. Do not use Italian dressing and call it spiedies, it's the same thing as calling something cooked in a crock pot "bbq" down in the south. You will be politely yet firmly asked to leave and the ghost of a native will rise from the grave to come and haunt you. As for sauce… we usually just use some of the reserved marinade or you can cook down the used marinade if you want less it less tangy. But your sauce wasn't completely out of the realm of possibility. Other serving suggestions are making a whole sub sandwich, putting them in a salad, or IF (big if) you have leftovers, shred them up and use them as a base for chicken salad the next day.

  3. Sam I gotta say it. As someone that lived in Binghamton NY for years. I am so glad you did this. This is a staple for us that live in the triple cities. It's absolutely amazing. This makes me so happy to see you recreate this

  4. Speedies are great, been eating them for 30 years. First had them at the great NY state fair. If you can't find speedie brand in your grocery store try good seasons Italian dressing packs.

  5. Never knew they were called Spiedies, as I've been making these same sandwiches for years, for college football game day with buddies at the house. I always have grilled onions to add. Quick tip: Best Italian dressing in a bottle is the old Kraft Seven Seas Viva Italian. Sadly, I can't find it in stores, so I buy 6 bottles at a time on Amazon. Best ever with bright tangy flavor. My ex-wife used to work for a major catering outfit, and they used Viva Italian exclusively. Check it out, Sam! Take a tip from a long time viewer and fan of your channel.

  6. Looks delicious. That Fireboard thermometer looks like overpriced junk though. >$150 device with wires versus <$100 for a Meater or MeatStick that has fully wireless temperature probes.

  7. A little twist on this recipe, I marinate chicken wings in State Fair brand spiedie sauce, (available in any grocery store in NYS), overnight then grill them over charcoal, haven't met anybody yet that doesn't like my grilled wings, spiedie sauce is also known as zhu-zhu, p.s. Italian dressing ain't even close! Sorry Sam
