You ruined it with the cheese. Traditional WC don’t have cheese. Other than that I think you nailed it! I’m 67. I’ve eaten WCs since I was a small child. No ketchup. No mustard. No cheese. Just the steamed onions/beef. My Dad would buy two huge bags for the 7 of us. Back then I think they cost about 10-15 cents each. OMG, such a treat! With 5 kids, we rarely ate out. White Castles were eaten in the car in the parking lot. Mom brought drinks from home. Fries? Did t even know they sold them until I was an adult!
