how long will the garlic keep if I chop and store it myself? I usually add garlic to olive oil to make garlic oil which I use within a week, is the garlic still ok to eat
That shredded cheese masquerading as parmesan is poor quality and doesn't have any flavor. Only buy the wedge of Locatelli pecorino romano or parmesan. Even grana padana will do.
I'm with you on all of this Laura, but that cheap fake parmesan on some cheap spaghetti and meat balls was a classic gourmet meal when I was growing up π€£π€£ I used to just eat a spoonful of it ππ€£ that powdered cheese will always be in my blood πππ

All of this is if you can afford it. Not correct that blocks of cheese are cheaper. Some of us have to feed a lot of people on a budget that doesn't account for INFLATION! But yes I feel the same about all of it, especially the garlic. Just can't afford the cheese.
You are 1000% correct!! I never ever use pre chopped garlic!! I see so many you tube cooks use it all the time. Cheese I agree but I do use some pre shredded sometimes but grating your own is always better!! Parmesan so true. Dropping that can that is all me every time.
I wish you would cover the different pastas, as I know n understand few, n uses. Especially, simple dishes for orzo, n the hepalthier types, like red n white quinoa, cause I am trying, plus I just had bariatric surgery, so, I cook mostly for one n leftovers. But, I like your show n cooking. TIA!
LISTEN π…Such a great series! So many things that are so convenient to me… hard to give some of them up… But I hear you! And I do appreciate good flavors! Old dogs (no pun intended) and new tricks…TRYING! π€β₯
