The pancakes do look appetising- but they are neither traditional Irish Boxty nor Potato Bread. I am not criticising this recipe Iβm sure the results will be very good. But it is important to know that this product is not,in any way, part of traditional Irish cuisine
In Ireland they're called boxty but we always called them potato pancakes.
Love your recipes, BUT you talk too fast at the end of all your videos. I have no idea what you're saying. Please speak slower.
Bad recipe for Boxtys..
Oh no the Germans
Serve applesauce with it yummy .
It would be handy to have quantities (grams) as I am not very good at guessing. I am so wanting to try them
possible with regular milk?
My sister would make these with just an egg in the left over mashed potatoes, and I still think of them!
Great memories.
Thank you Laura

An Irish pub in Minneapolis makes these with a little shredded chicken. So so good
You look exactly like grace from peaky blinders with brown hair π³
For better taste – fry in Lard.
My mom use to make these she called them potato cakes
Potato bread (aka farles)
This is very similar to the German pancake recipe. I would serve these with applesauce
Nooo way, in my country we are making Lithuanian potato pancakes that are much more tasty! Just fresh graded potatoes, adding finely cut onion, 1 egg, salt and pepper, mix all together and cook in a pan. Much tastier and more healthy, Irish people adore it when they come here! Nooo for soda and no to flour. Serving with sour cream or Greek yoghurt, or sauce from fried small pieces of bacon or with smoked salmon and sauce made of curd mixed with a bit of yoghurt salt pepper and dill.
They look similar to hash browns.
So weird that I found your YouTube channel for cooking , use to follow your cooking videos then lost sight of them and yesterday looking for a video to make BBQ chicken π I found, one of your video .. jajajaaa then I subscribe π€ͺ
Yaaay thank you just bought a bunch of potatoes on sale and don't know what to do with them yet

βββThe old Irish rhyme is: "Boxty on the griddle; boxty on the pan. If you can't make boxty, you'll never get a man!"βββ

i need to learn a lot from you. evaluate my work
Hi, Laura! Iβd love to know what kind of pan you made these in! Iβm making them right now and have tried a non-stick and stainless steel both with sunflower oil and both pans are a mess :(. The crunchy brown bits are delicious but I canβt flip them without a disaster.
These are Hanukah latkes with an Irish twist. Delicious.
I'm gonna try it with sour cream and cheddar cheese.
C'mon Laura, you are Mrs Spud. You must show us all how to make "Champ" Hello from Donegal, lovev your channel. Xxx go for it!
This recipe is almost like Polish Potato Pancakes (Placki Ziemniaczane) minus the eggs. Been making them for years but with shredded potatoes. Those look runny in the middle. And never, for me, of sour cream. Always til the day I die it will be with grape jelly!

This was one of the first recipes I was taught. I have made this so many times I could do it in my sleep. Thanks for sharing.
Wow amazing
I make a version of these solely with leftover Yukon gold mashed potatoes, egg, flour, whatever seasoning you want, diced cheese and jalapeno. I serve them with salmon patties.
Spud love ππ
I usually just make potato pancakes with grated potato, egg, and onion. This looks fantastic and I will try making them this weekend βΊοΈ
