  1. I've heard that you can also put a little water in with the bacon at the start. It keeps the temperature relatively low and renders some of the fat so when the water is gone, the bacon is already half cooked.

  2. i always cook my bacon on a sheet pan in the oven, renders perfectly, no grease spattering all over the stovetop! But if you are doing lardons, this is the best way!
