She is so attractive I have a hard time paying attention to the cooking.
My grandmother would say "don't handle the dough" meaning don't knead it. You just want it gathered roughly. Even move the bowl and move it in a circular motion so as to bring the dough together without pushing down with your hands. Never apply pressure to knead Scones.
Little tip, at the bakery where I work in Dublin, we cut the scones into squares to reduce waste and we don't need to roll out the dough again
Are you going back to your original intro? Feels like back in the day LITK!!
This isn't the correct recipe for a traditional scone. All purpose flour is fine, self raising can be used, but baking powder is essential, that's why they didn't rise properly. Also I've never ever seen traditional scones made with eggs, too gloopy.
Flour
Baking powder
Butter
Sugar
Salt
Milk
Come on Laura, soaking currants in water?, we're Irish, soak them in Whiskey.

😋
Can buttermilk be used? I always save my milk that has gone sour and use it in my baking!
A little bit flat .. use self raising flour and baking powder .. roll out thicker !
Loved the recipe! But can we talk about that apron! So cute
Please make blackberry jam homemade thanks on YouTube
OMG it's been 10 years I watch your videos, and you are still so cute.. lol..
Amazing
Would you say a scone and a sweet vanilla biscuit are the same thing?
Can you show us how to make clotted cream?!
Is Mia alright? God blessed her n her family, amen
We normally have them a lot higher but they look really good!
Scones have a "special place" in my food consumption history – There's literally nothing like them. Some jam or jelly surely livens them up. – Cheers!
You need to slather with Kerrygold! If you don’t leave teeth marks it’s not enough butter.
Thanks for a very nice video
wow one of my best memories in ireland is eating a fresh irish scone in Dingle at strand house- raspberry white chocolate…PHEW i can't wait to learn how to make these!
Clotted cream is not an Irish thing it is a British thing. I make Irish bread or Brown bread never do I ever make scones we love to toast it then have it with with some butter and/or Jam of any kind. LOL
Hi Laura! Can you use bread flour? Thanks
Hi thanks for the recipe 🇨🇦❤️
I love glacier cherries in a scone, yum! 😄
As an ex British colony, there are a few things we should not have abandoned the day we threw the tea into the bay… Meat pies, scones, jam and clotted cream, and weekly Yorkshire puddings. Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. 😂
They look great😌 but in Ireland most of our scone recipes will use buttermilk instead of normal milk & I would definitely roll the dough out a lot less so they’re taller & more fluffy on the inside🇮🇪
What size biscuit cutter did you use?
Scone rhymes with "gone" in southern hemisphere countries/
Looks delicious!!!
Laura I love a good scone ,with butter clotted cream or a good jam thanks for sharing this recipe with me
SCOTTISH & ENGLISH SCONES…Not Irish!!!. Nice recipe scones though.
My darling grandfather would make Irish scones every Sunday morning for the family before we went to church. They were always so good. He made them plain with nothing in them. He said he wanted the jam or preserve to shine.
Looks yummy. Where can we get your apron?
Awww, I was really hoping to see your homemade jam dolloped on the scones!! I ADORE any fresh bread with butter and jam. Anyway, thanks for the video!
Yummy
Good effort, Laura!
In Ireland 🇮🇪 we usually put butter and marmalade or jam on our scones. Clotted cream is an English tradition.
