Butter Pecan ice cream is one of my many favorites. Another favorite flavor of mine is maple nut but you can't find it anymore in the grocery stores around here. If, you could come up with a recipe on how to make maple nut ice cream I would be forever grateful! Thanks Laura!
i usually realize your recipes without any change however this time I need to think about some change in order to get its nutty flavor because it has been proved that browning butter is detrimental to your health .
I did everything according to your description and video, but the result was a disaster. The consistency was grainy, and the whole ice cream was pretty tasteless, except for the toasted pecans. This is not my first time making ice creamβI have been making different types of ice cream for over 40 years and have never had this happen. It's probably best that I stick to my own old recipes, apparently.
I am writing this so that others can be a little careful about following the recipe :))
Can you add a drop of vanilla extract or paste to the pecans for extra flavor??

Wouldnβt it be better to brown the butter WITH the pecans, to incorporate the pecan flavor all throughout the icecream?
You can put your ice cream maker in the freezer a few hours before making your base for the ice cream then when the base is done put the hot base into a large bowl with cold water and ice cubes to help the base cook down faster it will take no longer than 45 minutes to an hour. That will help you not have to wait 24 hours later to make ice cream thank me later βΊοΈ
I got a really nice ice cream machine a couple of Christmases ago and Iβve rarely used it. Iβm going to start.
Honestly, I made this. My milk simmered, split, and had curdled, I just strained out the curdled part, used the milk in my ice cream, and moved on with life. My icecream turned out so good.
So I wouldn't worry if your milk curdled just use it anyway.
(it's save to eat).
