cooked hot in a pizza oven to finish off, and then hit it with white wine when pipping hot….and that is where the "vesuvio" part comes in….like a volcano.
I can't wait to make this but it's SCREAMING for a little parm on the top.
Make it with a little bisque even better just not too much flower.
Chicken Mt. Vesuvious is known as Blackened Chicken I believe.
The Vernon Street Tavern makes this dish with lemon but the Italian places on 24th st don't.

My brother went to Chicago to have a famous Restuarants chicken vesuvio. I was a wasted trip…. Best cooks have moved out of the city.. But no problem! We cook your recipe all the time YUM.

I used to travel to Chicago and would stop at a local bar/restaurant for drinks and dinner. Not a fancy place, I think it was called Manzi’s. It was in the western suburbs. The chicken Vesuvio was simply amazing. At the time it was less than $10.
I live in the Chicago area and I love chicken Vesuvio. I never knew it was a Chicago thing.
Just tried this Chicken Vesuvio recipe. As is the case with your recipes (when paired with your videos) it turned out beautifully. Just about everything that we try based on your instructions is beautiful AND delicious. The flavor profile on this one’s not one of our favs… Just saying. Nice, but tame, pedestrian, mild mannered… No drama.
