SO true. I laugh at most recipes online as they aren't even close to the Italian like my mom made! I see mushroom, peppers, wine, onions, etc. NO NO.

My mom made this frequently but she added green peppers and onion and also cut up potatoes. I like your recipe much better and plan to make it that way. Always had Italian bread for dipping. Thank you for the memories!

i would cut up the meat using a pair of kitchen shears – saves your knife and pan and is much easier!

Ahhh Laura… my mum makes this a lot, and she uses girello beef. It comes nice and tender and is the best. We tried something the last time we had it, my we actually put the black salty olives in the sauce! Turned out delicious. Give it a try!

This is exactly how my mom made it except she used a thicker piece of meat. She also made it with shrimp. Loved it both ways.
