We really just have one goal – to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.

If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin – then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.

Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

THANK YOU ❗️

  1. FYI: Rhode Island accent is NOT like a Boston accent. More like New Jersey/New York/Sopranos! I'm originally from there (next door in Massachusetts). Definitely different. Family still lives there so must have hot weiners when I go back to visit because can't get them in Los Angeles where I now live. Oh, and BTW: Hot Weiners use a special hot dog–New York System hot dogs, smaller than regular hot dogs and skinless. But so delighted to see you make them even though you forgot the celery salt.

  2. MARCH: Scallop, corn chowdah!! quarter scallops, can of corn, 2 slices chopped bacon, diced potatoes, 1/2 cup milk, 1 cup chix broth, 4 cups water. sear the scallops in the bacon and bacon fat, add potatoes, broth and water, 20 min later add corn, milk, pepper to taste. enjoy. no thickener here. true NE chowdah before thickeners. amazing

  3. New York System are my absolute favorite. A couple critiques:
If you really want that authentic, fantastic, clog-your-arteries, flavor, you should cook your meat in lard, not butter.
New York System wieners aren't boiled, they're grilled at a very low temp just to warm them up.
Buns are the traditional side-cut rolls.
You don't have near enough onions on it. If your breath doesn't smell like onion for days you did it wrong =p.
Though I'm not sure it really matters, mustard goes on first.
You missed the celery salt. It's an essential last topping.
NY System Hot Weiners aren't spicy, so you messed something up there.
The wieners aren't all beef. If you can't get the authentic wieners your best bet is to use a bun length pork wiener and hot all beef hot dog.

You can actually buy Olneyville's seasoning packets. They're very good.
If you want authentic hot wieners without traveling to Rhode Island you can actually order them from Little Rhody. I live in Nebraska (my family is from RI) so that's what I do. And the real weiners are just so different and fantastic.

  4. Jesus – I didn't know what the hell Roland sent you, but you've swung and missed on almost everything here. The Supreme stupidity is knowing nothing about a food, tweaking the recipe yourself as you think it should be in your own head and declaring the final product an amazing version of the original based a suggestion from someone you don't know. A New York System Hot Weiner (the official, VERY Rhode Island name for them) is NOT a chili dog – your sauce would be at home in El Paso but not in Providence. Weiner sauce is finer grained, simmered in lard with no visible chunks of onion. And it ain't spicy hot. Why ain't it spicy hot? Because, again, it is NOT chili. All beef dogs – no effin' way. Pork/Veal wieners from a single joint: Lil Rhody Wieners. Steamed bun yes – but not those rolls with obesity issues you have. Weenies are cooked on a flat top, not boiled. The best form of onion? Not a crispy, piquant white onion that some Food Network tool might roll their eyes over. Yellow onions. Chopped fine – and if the ones they put on your gaggah (another "official" RI name) are already a day old, then your weenie went up a notch in flavor and nuance. You mentioned the celery salt a couple of times. You still skipped it. I think getting all these things wrong isn't the worst – out of staters screw it up all the time. The most galling thing here is your arrogance in being wrong. You seem like the type of dude who'd wrap a log of hamburger in frozen bread dough and declare himself the King of Beef Wellington.

  5. This is a JOKE, they are NOT RI WIENERS. It is not chili…it is wiener sauce. Those are not hot dogs like you used that look like dog peckers. You do not put the mustard on top of the meat and onions. You should study your topic before you make yourself sound as dumb as you did in this video…

  6. Sam, this really gets me upset when anybody thinks a NY System RI Wiener is a HOT DOG. Your recipe uses HOT DOGS so yes it's a HOT DOG recipe. If you don't use a real wiener (Rope cut preferred) it is hot dog or a coney or a chili dog . You also served up the sauce and made chili dog sauce. There is NEVER any tomato sauce in a NY System wiener sauce or chopped onions. Have you even tried a RI Hot WIENER?? If you did you would know what you made is 100% NOT one. You might be a good cook but you know NOTHING about the state of RI's tasty treat.Enjoy your HOT DOGS and I suggest you change name of your video to chili dog, your recipe gives wieners from RI a BAD NAME!😠😠😠

  7. The weiner sauce is not a chili… there are certain spices, and a process to making the "meat sauce"… The weiner dog is also not a saugy dog… and the bun is all wrong also… And the correct name to call it, is, "New York System How Wiener"… made with (in order) Mustard, Meat sauce, chopped RAW onion, and celery salt. Taste difference does not even compare…

  8. 1. Calling the meat sauce "chili" is misleading.
    2. Using an all-beef dog is inexcusable.
    3. Omitting the celery salt is like leaving your fly unzipped — embarrassing if unintentional, a sign of sickness if done deliberately.
    4. It's normal to add mustard before sauce, although to do otherwise will be overlooked in polite society.
    5. There are several Rhode Island accents, and none of them are to be confused with any of the Boston accents.

    Otherwise, a lovely video.

  9. I guess you're moving to Rhode Island then? That thing you made is not a NY System wiener, which is far superior to whatever you made. Get on a plane and try the real thing. Flights to PVD are pretty affordable from anywhere in the US.

  10. I am so sorry for your ignorance regarding accents, a Rhode Island accent sounds nothing like a Boston accent. For that matter, sounds nothing like a New York. Really, if you are going to do an exposé' that highlights the smallest state, do some more research…..
