no-one does a proper smashburger here. your version is like infinitely better than the dogshit burger with the lots we get here.
It is a messy burger best eaten at the beach in the summer. Most "fish and chip" shops in Australia sell this burger. Love getting a local burger that weighs more than double of any McDonalds burgers at the same price.

I don't know who sold you this pup but Aussie bred and born and have NEVER seen a monstrosity like this, we never——never have a double meat burger, unless it;s a Big Mac and hardly anyone eats those. We construct basically the same but it looks better, sits better and never resembles a tower in Pisa. Please do it properly so we don't look like a land of tossers.
You only need 1 burger patty and 1 piece of pineapple for an authentic Aussie burger with the lot.

You need pickled beets, regular US beets wont do, as an Aussie that lived in the US, i learned that lesson….regular beets are trash!

Excellent job with the hamburger with the lot did us Aussies proud… I also would of put on a potato scallop (potato in batter )
Depending on where you get it its a "Burger with the lot" or a "Works burger" also as an Aussie that lived in USA, make sure you get pickled beets not regular beets, but you must have ETA or at worst Masterfoods BBQ sauce, an American BBQ sauce will not work……..and this is coming from someone who makes sauces 😉
As an Aussie, I would only change two things – swap the bbq sauce for tomato sauce and caramelise the onions a lot more.
Would of been better with just 1 patty 👌👌and also great as a thin steak sandwich same recipe 👌👌
You must cook onion with beer
beets in burgers is what we use instead of pickles. they are both preserved in vinigar.
BBQ sauce is so Sydney… Here in Melbourne you have to have Tomato sauce! Single patty only and the onions need to be thinly sliced and then caramalised more. Otherwise great job looks delicous!
