I made this over the weekend, the beer bread is phenomenal. srsly.
I make broccoli cheddar soup fairly often but never ever thought to smoke the broccoli first. Sounds epic!

I made this today and wow, smoke overload. I didn't smoke the broccoli but i did use a smoked black lager for the beer. If i make it again, I'll probably half the smoked cheddar with standard sharp cheddar.

Love carrots but not in this dish. I don't like the deep orange hue it added to the soup. Broccoli cheddar is one of my most favorite soups, like top 5.

Never heard of Broccoli Cheddar soup, even though Cheddar is the most famous British cheese. In the U.K. we have Broccoli and Stilton soup which I imagine is similar, but made from probably the second most famous British cheese. I may just give this a try.
