  1. I don’t know why but I dislike the taste of stews and casseroles that have been thickened with flour. I much prefer to remove the solid bits after cooking, reduce the liquid on the sauté function then add the solid bits back to the rich gravy to reheat.

  2. Totally new to the whole IP system but started off with this recipe. It burnt to the bottom of the pot with under pressure. I think I used too much flour on the beef but I did manage to get it stopped and recovered the meal. Very tasty!! Will definitely be making it again.

  3. It's so cool that since your UK travels you've been including British dishes like this beef stew, it helps people understand what real everyday British food is all about. BTW … serve it with 'rustic' thick cut , hot crusty bread, sourdough works well … or mash if you prefer … delicious.

  4. Good but… why flour on the beef? Season it and that's enough. Cornstarch? no thanks. That voids all the healthy stuff you put in that recipe just for the benefit of being a bit thicken. I am not bothered with that and don't really care about thickeness, but that's just me.
