  1. Made this again last week. It is so good! Also, I realized that this recipe is actually a variant of Beef Bourguignon. Sam swapped out the wine for Guinness, the beef stock for chicken stock, and added the puff pastry to make it into a pie.

  2. Not sure what it is about pearl onions, but I really hate them. Bleck. Especially frozen ones. Rather have regular. That said, making this tomorrow! Perfect fall Sunday dish. Thanks!

  3. I was going to do a pot roast and remembered the pearl onions in this recipe. I changed course and repeated this recipe. It is absolutely wonderful, possibly the best thing you have done, though the list is long of your recipes that I love. thank you for your simple prep yet wonderful flavors that you have brought into my cooking.

  4. Made this a month ago and family loved it. Made it again last night and served the stew in a sourdough bread bowl instead of the pie crust. Also excellent. Thanks for another great addition to the dinner rotation.
